Following last week’s announcement that the Denby Group has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators, I have been working closely with colleagues across Government and the industry to try to secure a positive outcome for Amber Valley.

Actions over the last few days:
– I have arranged an urgent meeting later today with the Minister for Industry, Chris McDonald MP.
– After I connected the two, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) held direct discussions with Denby’s leadership on Friday.
– I have been speaking with David Williams MP (Stoke-on-Trent North) to ensure that the future of Burleigh remains a part of conversations.
– My office is in regular contact with GMB Union representatives as they prepare for their own meetings.
– I have been in contact with a business at the Denby Pottery Village and will ensure that the concerns of all the businesses there are factored into ongoing discussions.
I will continue to work alongside all parties involved and will be taking further action throughout the week.
