The business focus is to produce luxury interiors and let the client become part of the process by choosing different elements that they may have seen on other projects or designs and bringing it all together to produce stunning rooms which are individual to each customer. Everything is handmade to order and there are no restraints on design, sizes, materials etc. This often means whole house projects, producing exquisite rooms with finely fitted and freestanding furniture.
Murray first established the business in 2004 after realising there was a gap in the market to produce locally manufactured products of very high quality to meet the demand from clients who otherwise would have looked to large national companies to manage their projects. Murray closely works with the client from the first conception of the design, through to the final installation to ensure a successful project and a satisfied client. A particular insight to the business success is the belief in keeping as much of the process ‘in house’, this affords the client a one stop shop approach and being advised by the same person who will see the whole project through from start to finish, it is all about the personal touch and the control over each process without needing too many contractors to be involved. Tait Furniture does however recognise that some elements need to be carried out by other experts in their field which would include people like Granite suppliers, builders, electricians, plumbers and upholsterers to contribute to the finished project.
Murray, designs your furniture and helps to manufacture, spray and install it along with his colleague David. Both Murray and David attended Basford Hall College in the late 80’s early 90’s both completing their City and Guild Cabinet Making qualifications. Murray continued his studies after a year in Australia travelling and studied to obtain his advanced Cabinet making City and Guilds, advanced industrial studies and a distinction to HNC level in furniture studies.
