Belper’s commemorative year continues with an inaugural music festival featuring some rock legends as well as local names and headlining glam rock ‘Spirit in the Sky’ superstars, Doctor and the Medics.

Lasting for three days from Friday, 18th September until Sunday, 20th September and costing a mere £15.00, the event will take place at Belper Meadows Cricket Club under a giant marquee. Day tickets are also available, but with a total of 16 bands on offer as well as a CAMRA tent and other food and drink outlets, the weekend pass represents great value for money.
Says festival organiser, Dale Rowles, also performing in steam punk band, BBBlackDog, “Belper 250 Rocks is an exciting blend of established acts and emergent voices covering a variety of genres from heavy metal to acoustic singer songwriters. There’s something for everyone and we look forward to the event becoming an annual fixture in our town which already has a much-celebrated live music scene.”
For hard-core rockers, veteran performers like ‘Atomic Rooster’ and ‘More’ will be taking the stage as well as Belper-based ‘These Wicked Rivers’. But also on the programme are iconic folk singer, Miranda Sykes, eclectic genre shifters, ‘The James Warner Prophecies’, Prog Rock impro jammers, ‘Dadaxl’, Derby-based Psychedelic songsters ‘The Telephones’, nouveau punk ‘Moon Bullet’ and a host of other talented artists.
Tickets available at Belper 250 Rocks on Eventbrite.
